To you, the Web Browser,
Hi! Glad you found us. Please feel free to look around and see what interests you.

Often times, especially when I’m eating at a new restaurant, I’ll ask the waiter who is taking our order, “What are you proud of here?” Sometimes that person will give me a puzzled look so I’ll reframe the question like this, “It’s my first time here, what would you advise me to order so that I’ll want to come back time and time again?” I’ve often gotten some awesome food by asking that question.

Maybe that’s your question for Cherokee. What are we proud of here?

First I’d invite you to check out our Children’s Christian Education program. IMHO our children are getting a great Bible education. If you have a younger child ages 3-14, put them in our Sunday School program and they will learn the stories of the Bible. Children who come here know that they are loved. We see in them the hope of our world’s future, and we strive in every way to give them a great Christian Education start.

Second, I’d invite you to check out our Wednesday Night Service. It starts at 6:30 goes for about 45 minutes and is designed as a midweek time to connect with God. We use all types of music; sometimes it’s upbeat, sometimes more mellow. After the service gets started, the head of our Christian Education program takes the children ages 4-11 to a Bible Exploration Time that allows parents to relax, think and connect with others.  There’ll be some drinks (coffee, tea, etc.) and something to nibble on. What’s different about this service is that there is often some time to think and then respond to what you have experienced. Lots of folk like having that opportunity.

Third, I’m proud of our inclusive and accepting nature. While we don’t make a big deal about it (except maybe right here!) we are a church that welcomes everyone “without regard to gender, race, color, ethnicity or sexual orientation.” Every week during our Communion service everyone present is invited to participate according to their own preference. We like to think it’s the way God wants our whole world to be.

So there you are, three reasons to come check us out. I think you’ll have an awesome experience.
